The Geriatric Center is a specialist clinic for patients in need of both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. A comprehensive assessment of the older patient's medical, physical, psychological, and social functional capacity during illness is performed by interprofessional teams. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are conducted in inpatient and outpatient care with the patient's individual needs in focus.

We are very proud to run a student teaching department (SUA) where nursing and assistant nursing students independently care for patients under supervision.

The general geriatrics department has 20 beds focusing on subacute general geriatric care and rehabilitation, as well as a so-called fast track for taking over patients from MAVA and the infectious disease clinic. We welcome diversity, and in 2016 the department was certified as LGBTQ-friendly.

As an assistant nurse at the Geriatric Center, you will have a developing, educational, and varied job in a team with joy at work. Here, assistant nurses have an important and natural role in the care team, and your work contributes to safe patient care of good quality. To grow in your professional role and provide the best care, we believe it is important to have a pleasant work environment and the opportunity for continuous development. As an assistant nurse, you will perform assistant nursing tasks for a care unit, such as monitoring vital parameters, wound care, sampling, etc. Supervising students is part of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with the elderly and puts the patient first, has a good attitude, and adapts your care to the patient's various needs throughout the care process. You are proactive, easy to collaborate with, and curious about new challenges. You take responsibility and thrive in an environment with varying tasks and changing intensity.

You work in a team and independently, where collaboration and initiative, as well as flexibility and attention to detail, are qualities we value. You have an assistant nursing education and an approved course in acute care. We place great importance on personal suitability. Experience in supervising students is an advantage.

As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in healthcare. You apply for a certificate of protected professional title for assistant nurses from the National Board of Health and Welfare.
